Schiller's first album was released in 1999. It is characterized by mostly instrumental pieces, with very little spoken words, mostly at the start and end of songs.
There are 1, 2 and 3 cd editions
of this album.
In all cases, the first CD has
the same 12 tracks, written either only in German, or with their English
translations which are as follows:
- Der Anfang (the beginning) 1:32
- Glück Und Erfüllung (Joy and Happiness) 5:15
- Liebesschmerz (Pain of love) 4:11
- Das Unbekannte Reich (the Unknown realm) 6:04
- Das Glockenspiel (the bell) 3:52
- Körperwewegung (Body Movements) 6:13
- Freiheit (Freedom) 5:51
- Ruhe (Quite) 6:11
- Sonnenuntergang (Sunset) 6:46
- Liebersparade (Love parade) 4:26
- Zeitgeist (Spirit of the age) 6:27
- Das Ende 4:03
Das Glockenspiel (the bell) is certainly the most radio friendly, one can
dance to its beats very easily, and it was indeed a very successful single.
Ruhe (Quiet) here has its first version, but many other arrangements and
remixes would be released. Although I love it, I prefer some of the other
versions.
I enjoy this album, when I want to listen to good beats and not necessarily in the mood to sing along as I do with the other albums.
The few lyrics (most of them are on track 11), are all in German.
The ones on tracks 2 and 3 annoy me at times, which reduce my overall appreciation for this album, which explains why I don't listen to it as often as the others.

- Now, my limited edition (EAN 0731454789127) has a second cd, offering a non-stop chill out piece, lasting 13:58 and which is, in my view, like a megamix of the album’s tracks into 1 continuous ‘’best off’’. It’s housed in a trifold double-digipack with the album’s booklet – and there is variant of this limited edition that comes also with a booklet for the second cd, and which has… the same EAN… just to make it complicated!
- Galaxy records released in the Philippines a different 2 cd edition : the first includes the entire album (12 tracks) + the chill out from my above edition, and the second cd ‘’the remixes’’ offers a total of 9 remixes (3 for Ruhe, 3 for Liebesschmerz and last 3 for Glockenspiel), which are as far as I can tell available also on their respective maxi singles (alongside additional remixes, so you might want to get those instead).
- Taiwan’s Alpha music did something very similar: the first CD with the album + Chill out (shortened to 13:42), and the second cd offers 7 remixes (3 for Ruhe, 2 for Liebesschmerz and 2 for Glockenspiel, each time titles with their English translated titles), and… the video clips for each of these 3 songs.
- Lastly, Singapore’s VMP Rave combines those above two editions’s contents :
- Cd 1 & 2 as the Philippines (album + full duration Chill out on disc 1; 9 remixes on disc 2), and… the 3 clips on disc 3.
All of these Asian releases offer a booklet for the lyrics.
Covers and colors differ, but for the sake of space and the fact that I
have only one of these editions, I won’t display all of them and direct you to
discogs’ relevant page where you can see all versions listed.
